WEST OTAGO HEALTH
RURAL INTEGRATED FAMILY HEALTH CENTRE
AND
AGED RELATED RESIDENTAIL CARE FACILITY
This new facility will be constructed on the site of the closed Tapanui Hospital. It will meet the community health needs of the district and will provide a broad experience for student doctors and nurses. The anticipated cost is between $5.1 million and $5.9 million to be split roughly 50/50 between the integrated family health centre and the rest home. It is expected that $1.5 million will need to be raised by the people of West Otago
SERVICES
The integrated Family Health Centre will provide:
- General Practice Services
- Practice Nursing Services
- Community Nursing Services
- Visiting Specialist Services
- ACC Access
- Emergency triage, stabilisation and transfer unit
- Consulting Rooms, a Family Room and space for a physiotherapist
- Dedicated Space for doctors and nurses
Aged Care Services to be provided will include:
- 14 Bed Rest Home
- Carer Support
- Respite Care
